Paraffin Treatments are available by appointment in my office, (636) 230-7600. I am currently offering treatments for the back, hands and feet, arms and elbows. The prices for the hands are $10-$12, up to the elbows $16- $18 and including the elbows $18- $20. These sessions can be done while sitting comfortably in the lobby of my office or in the privacy of my massage room.
The full back treatment is very relaxing and healing. It is the ultimate in hydrating the skin while warming and relaxing the muscles. I begin with a full back massage and then gently rub in additional hydrating oil or lotion that is best suited for you. Layers of warm paraffin are brushed onto your back to seal in the moisture while the heat penetrates into your back muscles, loosening and unwinding the stress. While you are resting and comfortable, a relaxing and rejuvenating foot massage is given. Ahhhh! The session lasts about 45 minutes and cost $50.00
Add our DELUXE Hand and Foot Treatments to your service- exfoliation, custom oils and lotions, massage, paraffin and warm mitts or booties- $25
The Benefits and Process of Warm Paraffin Treatments
Warm paraffin relieves the pain of arthritis, fibromyalgia, tense tired muscles and aching joints. It also rejuvenates, hydrates and nourishes the skin.
Throughout history, paraffin heat therapy has been proven to provide pain relief for many conditions, including joint stiffness, muscle spasms, inflammation, and more. But one of the earliest uses was the fast, effective relief from the pain of arthritis -- is still one of the most common therapies.
After a paraffin dip the heat increases the blood supply to the area being treated, moisture is drawn from the underlying layers of the skin, the moisture surfaces and mixes with the applied moisturizer. This fluid is unable to evaporate because of the paraffin glove. It is then infused back into the skin resulting in the most successful way to rejuvenate, hydrate and nourish the skin while relieving pain and stiffness.
How it is done (hand and foot dips)
A paraffin dip takes only a few minutes. First, the skin is cleansed, then a moisturizing lotion is applied and lightly massaged into the area. The hand or foot is immersed gradually into a warm paraffin spa, creating an extra thick paraffin glove. A mitt or bootie is then slipped over a plastic liner creating a seal to improve heat retention (the disposable plastic liner protects the mitt or bootie from the paraffin). The treatment will last about 20 minutes then the paraffin glove will be peeled off, revealing soothed, incredibly soft and moist hands or feet!
